IAB and IAB Tech Lab believe that consumer trust is the lifeblood of digital media, and therefore we encourage responsible data practices, industry accountability, and evolving open standards to protect consumer privacy while enabling innovation and competition in the open web for both businesses and consumers’ benefits.

While we prepared our members and the industry for the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) effective date of 1/1/2020, IAB has also been urging Congress to pass legislation to create a federal regulatory framework around privacy that will protect consumers and avoid the risk of a patchwork of conflicting and damaging state laws.
