On November 2, 2017, the IAB Board of Directors and Mobile & Data Centers of Excellence met in Washington, D.C. for a series of meetings with lawmakers, regulators, industry, and academia. The event was held in the Newseum’s Knight Conference Center.
Guest speakers for the event included Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR), Senator Tim Scott (R-SC), FTC Acting Chairman Maureen Ohlhausen, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, Axios’ Jim VandeHei & Mike Allen, and the American Enterprise Institute’s Norman Ornstein, among others.
Participants addressed a wide range of topics including privacy, data security, net neutrality, advertising tax deductibility, and the economic value of the ad-supported internet. Following Randall Rothenberg’s October 24 testimony before Congress on Political Advertising, this issue also featured prominently throughout the day.
Randall Rothenberg also shared the latest edition of the President’s Report, summarizing IAB’s latest progress towards achieving our organizational priorities.
