On November 16, 2015, the Federal Trade Commission convened a workshop in Washington, D.C. entitled “Cross-Device Tracking: An FTC Workshop.” Panelists discussed technological advances, consumer benefits, potential privacy and data security risks, and the role of industry self-regulatory programs related to cross-device linking. In advance of the workshop, the Digital Advertising Alliance released new guidance on the application of its principles to data used across devices.
