IAB Announces “Innovation in Interactive” as Theme of MIXX 2.7

Influential Lineup of Speakers Includes Charlie Rose, Seth Godin, American Express CMO John Hayes

NEW YORK, NY (June 14, 2007) – The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), the leading trade association of the interactive media world, today announced that it was energizing this year’s MIXX Conference and Expo with a new theme, “Innovation in Interactive.” MIXX 2.7’s fresh direction has already attracted such speakers as Charlie Rose, Seth Godin and John Hayes, CMO, Global Advertising and Brand Management, American Express Company.

With its focus on “Innovation in Interactive,” this year’s conference spotlights the “MIXX” of Content + Strategy + Channel and Marketer + Agency + Media Company. And it promises to bring together top brand marketers and senior agency executives with the media companies, publishers and technology providers that are actively defining interactive.

“Innovation in Interactive is a compelling theme that reflects the dynamics, and the dynamic happenings, of the worlds of marketing and advertising today,” said IAB President and CEO Randall Rothenberg. “Digital media has become the fulcrum upon which marketers need to build their marketing plans to reach consumers effectively, and we’ve created an agenda that will help them accomplish this.”

The MIXX (Marketing and Interactive Excellence) Conference and Expo is the Official Interactive Event of Advertising Week 2007 and the preeminent event for marketing and agency professionals and the publishers and technology firms who help drive their efforts.

Conference attendees will enjoy keynotes, panels, breakout sessions, industry forecasts and an exhibit hall filled with an all-star line-up of vendors showcasing the latest advertising and marketing solutions. Additionally, the breakouts sessions, focused on specific issues facing marketers, agencies and publishers, enable personal and structured networking.

The event will take place on September 24-25 at the Crowne Plaza Time Square and will culminate with the 2007 MIXX Awards Gala at Gotham Hall on September 25.

The conference will kick off with a keynote address delivered by John Hayes, CMO, Global Advertising and Brand Management, American Express Company, who will share his insights on how to apply innovation in a world of constant change. Noted author and industry pioneer Seth Godin, will be interviewed by Charlie Rose.

Godin is the author of seven books that have been bestsellers around the world and influenced the way people think about marketing, change and work. His latest book, Purple Cow, was a bestseller on lists of The New York Times and the Wall Street Journal and illustrates how companies can transform themselves by becoming “remarkable.” Charlie Rose, Emmy award-winning journalist and host of the Charlie Rose Show, will interview Godin. This is the third time Rose has interviewed an industry leader as part of MIXX.

Hayes is responsible for American Express’ customer focus and global marketing programs. In this role, he has contributed to the launch of over 200 new products in 10 years and continues to be a thought leader and market mover in a constantly changing marketplace. He is the “Customer Champion” for American Express and continues to oversee all global market communications and market research functions.
