IAB, Facebook & Nasdaq Join Together To Produce Advertising Program at Mobile World Congress

Invitation-Only Full-Day Event on March 2, 2015 to Showcase the Latest Mobile Marketing Innovations from Around the Globe

NEW YORK, NY (February 2, 2015) — Today, the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Facebook and Nasdaq announced an official partnership with the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona to produce a full-day of programming , devoted to mobile advertising and marketing – bringing this critical topic to the traditionally tech-focused conference. Developed for senior-level leadership in the marketing, media and technology industries, the invitation-only event will spotlight the finest work in mobile advertising and examine new trends and technologies that are destined to influence the mobile landscape in years to come.

“Mobile devices have changed the way that we live and interact with friends, family, work and the entire environment that surrounds us,” said Randall Rothenberg, President and CEO, IAB. “But it isn’t mobile technology alone that is supporting consumers in their day-to-day activities on smartphones and tablets. Mobile advertising is often the fuel that powers these mobile pursuits – so it is no surprise that the Mobile World Congress is opening its agenda to feature mobile marketing as a major subject of discussion and debate.”

“The growth of mobile has completely shifted the way that companies need to approach their marketing strategies,” said Sarah Personette, Head of Global Business Marketing, Facebook. “Advertising can now be tailored to reach real people around the world with tailored messaging, transforming what was once a mass media approach into ‘people-based marketing.’ An exploration of this dramatic change is going to be at the core of our sessions at Mobile World Congress.”

“The convergence of social, mobile, and community are reshaping customer engagements and relationships,” said Jeremy Skule, CMO, Nasdaq. “The confluence of these trends creates an unprecedented opportunity to further transform the way we interact with customers and society at large. Together with IAB and Facebook, Nasdaq is working to bring a multidimensional perspective to the mobile marketing conversation.”

The special all-day event will be held at Fira Gran Via in Barcelona from 9:00am to 5:00pm on Monday, March 2, 2015. For more information or to request an invitation, please visit here.
