Privacy compliance can be complicated stuff, but with so much attention focused on this subject in the digital advertising industry, everyone needs to become fluent in the basics. This course is designed for those in business strategy, operations, product, and engineering roles, as well as junior lawyers, to provide a detailed introduction to upcoming U.S. state privacy laws—specifically, the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Colorado Privacy Act (CPA), and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)—and how each apply to the various players of the digital advertising ecosystem.
This course is for Digital Advertising Professionals who need a crash course on industry privacy laws & compliance. It is essential that any company within the industry understand the legal rules under which they operate.

Jessica Lee
Jessica Lee chairs Loeb & Loeb’s Privacy, Security & Data Innovations practice. Jessica helps companies in the U.S. and around the world launch, market and monetize their digital products and content. She provides strategic privacy counselling to clients who are leveraging data in connection with programmatic and addressable advertising, voice technology, location-based tracking, smart devices and wearables, as well as emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and facial recognition. Jessica has assisted dozens of organizations design their privacy programs and operationalize U.S. and international privacy and data security requirements, including the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”), and, more recently, the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) and upcoming state privacy laws. Jessica is the Chair of the Cyber Security & Surveillance Committee of the International Bar Association and sits on the IAPP’s Publications Advisory Board. Jessica is a supporter of the arts and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Weeksville Heritage Center and sits on the Board of Directors for the Laundromat Project and Musicians on Call.

Julie Rubash brings over 15 years of legal experience both at law firms and as internal counsel in the entertainment, technology, and advertising sectors. Most recently, Julie served as the VP of Legal at advertising platform Nativo. She coordinates legal efforts for Sourcepoint and ensures that our product suite innovates and expands to meet the demands created by the changing regulatory landscape.
