      Overview

      Commerce media is an emerging practice where retailers and other companies utilize their physical assets, digital properties, first-party data, and connection to the shopper journey to create integrated media opportunities. Retail media is a core pillar under the commerce media umbrella and is the principal driver of revenue growth, brand partnerships, and customer experiences at leading retailers.

      As retail media continues to grow, the lines between shopper marketing, trade marketing, and media will blur. New digital terms, ad formats, data expectations, and buying models are entering day-to-day retail operations. This training gives retail and merchant professionals the essentials needed to confidently operate in this ever-evolving space.

      In this course, you’ll learn how to:

      • Understand how media is bought, sold, measured, and optimized in a retail context
      • Use core digital media language and concepts
      • Recognize common ad formats across onsite, offsite, and in-store media
      • Apply concepts of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd party data to targeting and measurement
      • Explain how programmatic technology (DSPs, SSPs, ad exchanges, real-time bidding) enables automated media buying
