IAB Celebrates International Data Privacy Day

IAB is excited to celebrate Data Privacy Day with our colleagues in the advertising and privacy communities.

At IAB, our mission is to help the media and marketing industries thrive in the digital economy. Central to that mission is reinforcing and enhancing trust in the internet ecosystem. For more than 20 years, IAB has been working to promote trust through privacy mechanisms such as the Digital Advertising Alliance’s YourAdChoices program, the IAB Europe Transparency & Consent Framework, and the IAB CCPA Compliance Framework.

IAB also believes that a strong federal privacy law is a critical component to providing citizens with the protections they expect. As a founding member of the Privacy for America Coalition, IAB has helped outline a bold new paradigm for a national law that would make personal data less vulnerable to breach or misuse and set forth clear, enforceable and nationwide consumer privacy protections for the first time.

On March 24th, Privacy for America will host a national privacy summit and Congressional fly-in to help lawmakers build consensus on a data privacy bill that will provide meaningful protections for all Americans. We encourage our members to attend and look forward to providing additional details soon.

And on February 9-11, we hope you will join us for our policy & privacy track at the 2020 IAB Annual Leadership Meeting in Palm Desert, CA. We will explore how today’s regulatory activity around data, privacy, and compliance will fundamentally impact the future of marketing & media. The special track, titled “Beyond GDPR & CCPA: The Future of Data Privacy & Regulation” will address topics such as The Economic Impact of Privacy, RTB Compliance with GDPR, The Intersection of Antitrust and Privacy, and more.
