IAB Applauds Passage of Judicial Redress Act in Senate Judiciary Committee

IAB Applauds Passage of Judicial Redress Act in Senate Judiciary Committee

January 28, 2016 – Dave Grimaldi, Executive Vice President of Public Policy at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), today issued the following statement in response to the Senate Judiciary Committee’s passage of the Judiciary Redress Act.

“Today’s bipartisan Committee vote on the Judicial Redress Act is a sign to our European allies that the United States takes privacy seriously and is committed to reaching agreement on a new data transfer framework.

Transatlantic data flows are a crucial component of the digital advertising industry, benefiting EU and U.S. businesses and consumers alike.

The EU has expressed a clear desire for redress rights as a condition for the completion of a new “Safe Harbor.”  We look forward to seeing those negotiations advance with the confidence and knowledge that those rights will be provided by JRA as it moves towards final passage.”
