IAB AND INDUSTRY PARTNERS TO FLORIDA LEGISLATORS: REJECT H.B. 1547

Major advertising trade organizations are urging Florida House members to reconsider H.B. 1547, a state data privacy bill that would “make Florida less friendly to small businesses than California.” Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Association of National Advertisers (ANA), American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A’s), American Federation of Advertisers (AFA) and Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) write in their letter to state legislative leaders:

“On behalf of the advertising industry, we write to respectfully ask you to decline to advance Florida HB 1547.1 We and the companies we represent, many of whom do substantial business in Florida, strongly believe consumers deserve meaningful privacy protections supported by reasonable laws and responsible industry policies. However, HB 1547’s provisions are out-of-step with existing state privacy laws in ways that would have a devastating impact on the Florida economy and the businesses that support it.”
