IAB NewFronts 2023 FAQ

STREAMING: BEST PRACTICES

To view an IAB Stream you must be logged in to iab.com using the same email address used when registering for the event

  • Make sure to sign into iab.com in the days before the event to ensure you know your username and password, on the morning of the event response times might vary.
  • If necessary use the forgot password link to recover access to your account.
  • Ensure the user you are using is the same as that used to register for the event. – You will be able to find the email address in your most recent event confirmation email.
  • If you have any issues with login reach out to [email protected].

BROWSER OPTIONS

  • Chrome is the preferred browser for IAB Stream
    • Edge or Firefox as a backup
    • Safari is discouraged
  • Whitelist the video player URLs with your corporate IT
  • When possible, run in Incognito or InPrivate mode to avoid any caching issues from previous events.
  • Disable any adblockers as they can block some streaming url’s
  • Disable or disconnect and VPN’s or Proxy servers in use as they can block/disrupt the stream.
  • Do not cover the screen as this will/can cause the player to assume you are not viewing and pause/cache play.
  • If you have unstable Wi-Fi connection, change the quality setting on the player (using gear icon on the button right of the player) from Auto to a Fixed setting.

WHAT IF…?

  • I can log in but am unable to see the event?

You have logged in with a different account than you registered for the event.

  • I can view the event but I only see the chat window?

Deactivate your AdBlocker, it’s blocking the video stream or you have not whitelisted the URLs listed abov

  • I can see the event Video and Chat but I’m only seeing a placeholder slide?

Assuming the event is live, you are viewing a cached version of the page, refresh and/or use incognito mode. (check the chat to see if there has been a delayed start to the event).

  • My Stream keeps caching?

For any broad stream issues notification will be sent in the event chat, otherwise the most likely culprit is the consistency of your local internet connection.

    • If on WiFi move closer to the router (if possible).
    • If possible hard wire your connection.
    • Using the gear icon on the button right of the player, change the quality to a fixed level. Auto will constantly change the quality of the stream in line with the quality of your internet connection. These shifts can cause caching. Using a fixed value can stabilize your experience.
    • If you are still having issues, please reach out to [email protected].
