Richard brings deep expertise in privacy, technology law, and AI governance. He previously served as Chief Privacy Officer and Associate General Counsel at Foot Locker, where he led the global privacy program and helped launch the company’s AI Governance team. His career spans the U.S. and EMEA, with roles at IBM and AT&T, and as Special Counsel at Kelley Drye.
Richard has also been an active member of the Retail Industry Leaders Association’s Privacy Council, a privacy law advisor to the UN’s Global Pulse Big Data initiatives, and an Adjunct Professor of Media Law at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

During his time as a litigator, Matt handled various entertainment, intellectual property, false advertising, right-of-publicity, and privacy disputes, including defending a copyright infringement suit filed by the Estate of Frank Zappa and assisting in the successful defense of David Chase in connection with The Sopranos
Prior to joining Lowenstein, Matt worked for the Department of the Army, negotiating and drafting multi-million dollar procurements for communications and electronics equipment and related services, with an expertise with the FAR, DFARS, and AFARS.
Bryan Sterba is a partner at Lowenstein Sandler, where he advises clients at the intersection of business, technology, and law, with a particular focus on AI, IP, advertising, and media transactions. He works with companies to structure and negotiate technology deals in the AI space, addressing both commercial and operational realities. He counsels clients on AI governance, IP protection, and related strategic matters.
