As part of a broader effort to eliminate the ability to profit from counterfeit inventory in the open digital advertising ecosystem, Ads.txt provides a mechanism to enable content owners to declare who is authorized to sell their inventory.
This workshop is open to ad operations, product leads, and thought leaders at buy-side technology and advertiser platforms. The ads.txt specification is currently in public comment until June 19th. We are looking forward to engaging in conversation with buyers about their motivations to buy inventory from authorized resellers, brand safety motivations, and execution strategies for buyers to use ads.txt files to fight fraud.
Agenda for the workshop includes:
- An overview presentation from co-leads Dr. Neal Richter (Hebbian Labs) and Per Bjorke (Google) about the ads.txt specification.
- Discussion time for feedback and questions on the ads.txt spec out for public comment.
- Implementation considerations: how buyers can use crawlers to learn about inventory sources and authorized resellers.
- Strategy discussion: how ads.txt can inform bidding allocations to buy inventory that is more likely to be authentic and valid.
