Roundtable Discussion with U.S. Congresswoman Diana DeGette

IAB and Congresswoman DeGette in Denver

On Friday, November 20, IAB was honored to have Congresswoman Diana DeGette (D-CO), Vice Chair of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, join a group of IAB members for a roundtable discussion about the industry and the related policy issues in downtown Denver.

Colorado is home to many of the digital advertising industry’s most innovative companies and the industry is playing an increasingly important role in driving economic growth and employment across the state. In 2014, Colorado’s 14,425 technology companies accounted for 11 percent of the state’s GDP and nine percent of its workforce, the third highest percentage in the U.S.

As the Vice Chair of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Congresswoman DeGette plays an important role in issues of key importance to the digital advertising industry, including data security and privacy. Participants of the roundtable discussion had the opportunity to share with the Congresswoman their perspectives on these issues and highlight their impact on the digital advertising industry in Colorado, the nation, and around the globe.  We truly appreciate the time Congresswoman DeGette spent with us, and look forward to continuing the conversation.
