On July 18, Dave Grimaldi participated in a panel discussion on the digital economy as part of the Transatlantic Policy Network’s Transatlantic Week. Mr. Grimaldi highlighted the importance of developing common approaches to data protection, and the need for close coordination between the U.S. and Europe. He also noted the crucial role self-regulation plays in harmonizing industry standards.
Other panelists included Matthew Berry, Chief of Staff for FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, Pilar del Castillo Vera, Member of the European Parliament and Chair of the European Internet Forum, and Bob Quinn, Senior Executive Vice President of External and Legislative Affairs for AT&T.
First launched in 2010, Transatlantic Week is a yearly conference intended to help strengthen the U.S.-EU relationship by developing priorities and recommendations for joint action. Attendees include Members of Congress, Members of the European Parliament, and representatives from industry and academia.
